The beautiful white sand beach and turquoise bay is one of the best and safest swimming areas in all of Hawaii. The weather is normally warm, with cooling tradewinds. Swimming, snorkling, kayaking, sailing, fishing, windsurfing, and kite boarding are some of the many ocean activities enjoyed by residents and visitors to Lanikai.
The Mokolua Islands off of Lanikai Beach create a special place to gather for a day picnic. They are easily accessible by kayak, sailboat or even a half hour snorkle/swim. On most weekdays you can find quiet isolation on the island as you watch the sun rise out of the ocean.

Lanikai has lots of community gatherings and events. Shown hear is a Crafts Faire at Lanikai Park.

Kailua Beach Park, a short bike ride or walk from Lanikai, is world renowned for its superb windsurfing and kite boarding conditions. Windsurf lessons and equipment rental is located right at the beach park. In addition, the park offers acres of landscaped picnic space and miles of white sand beach to stroll or exercise along.

The quaint town of Kailua (of which Lanikai is a part) is colorful and relaxed. It offers a nice variety of great restaurants, assorted gift shops, major grocery markets, a large natural food store, and everything else you might need. If you feel like expanding even more into city life, the bustling capital city, Honolulu, is a scenic 30 minute drive over the mountains or along the coastline. It offers concert halls, theatres, many ongoing cultural and educational events, hundreds of more incredible restaurants, shopping malls, and the major happenings of any big city.

So it's easy to see how the spirit of "Aloha" lives here. Surrounded by the magestic Koolau mountain range to the turquoise waters of Lanikai your body, mind and spirit will be lifted with the goodness of life in a very special beach community.
